Veteran is a term usually associated with people who have served the armed forces for quite a long time and now have turned out for whatever reasons. Though generally veteran word is derived from Latin word ‘vetus’ which means old, and veteran refers for a person who has had more long service experience in a particular occupation or field. There are further more names given or one can also call them as division like military veterans or war veterans and some are even named veterans with a particular war name like World War I veterans. There are many specific availability of jobs for military veterans in federal as well as corporate sectors out of the fact that these are trusted for their loyalty.
As veterans are at times sub-categorized on the basis of wars that they were part of, after the Second World War, in part due to the experience of the First World War, most of the participating states set up elaborate veterans' administrations. This was like one of the initial main step for the betterment of veterans or their families. Within the United States there were groups like American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars which pushed and got a bill called G.I bill enacted. This bill enacted is still basis to many facilities provided till date to the veterans. This gives the right to access to free or subsidized education and health care to veterans. Many changes and improvements have been done to the bill over the time. The newly educated GIs created significant economic impact. The loans provided under this facility helped and even helps veterans to buy hosing and establish themselves among the continuously growing and developing societies of United States. The explosion of the suburbs further created sufficient housing for veterans and their families.
